Planet Spectacle! Observing Program of Bright Planets and the Moon!
THE PLANETS AND THE MOON! View the Lunar Surface plus Jupiter, Saturn, and, Mars!! See Saturn's rings, the belts of Jupiter and one to four of its moons!! Discuss the Lunar and Mars 'Geo'ology of their rocky surfaces.
An awe-inspiring opportunity to explore the Moon and an array of AMAZING Planets from Apache-Sitgreaves Observatory using Arizona's LARGEST dedicated public telescope. Visitors observe interesting Lunar features under some of the best skies in the South West. See the Moon and major Planets, like never before. This 1.5 to 2 hour program starts in the early evening and accommodates 20 people.
Maps: Do not use Google or other maps apps (they will get you lost)! Use these Maps.
Tickets: Our online system will not process a ticket request if the number of tickets available is less than the number you are requesting. If filled, please try another date.
Note: Please make sure to provide us with your cell phone number when entering your contact information during the ticket purchase process. Your purchase serves as your reservation. Your name will automatically appear on the Will Call List, which your program guide will have.

Clothing: PLEASE dress appropriately (bring a winter coat, hats and gloves)! When we are sitting and looking up at the sky we feel the ambient outside temperature and although it is warm in Phoenix, it will be substantially colder (20-25 degrees) after the sun sets in Overgaard which is at an elevation of just under 7000 ft. Do your best to bring warm clothing; your experience will be enhanced when you are dressed appropriately. It is better to be prepared than cold!
